Dipity.com – Timelines Of Your Life

View original post found on KillerStartups.com - all authored by Siri

What it does

Dipity, short for serendipity, is a timeline making app. You can make up a timeline of anything, from your favorite band shows, to the decline of the American economy. To start out, you do have to register which takes a matter of seconds. Follow that by hitting the ‘Create Event’ button and you are set. A whole slough of different types of media—Google maps, links, photos, videos, feeds, etc—can be pulled in to make your timeline dazzle, and once it’s complete, your timeline is embeddable on your own site or profile. You can easily focus in on each element for more info, and you can even zoom out on a whole time period. Furthermore, Dipity supports profile feeds from Twitter, Yelp, and Flickr, among others, which means you can create a lifestream.

In their own words

“Dipity is the easiest way to make and share interactive timelines about the people and things you care about.”

Why it might be a killer

Dipity allows users to create interactive and in depth timelines, unlike any other. These aren’t your normal, static timelines with little media interaction. They can be used to for developing a media lifestream where your friends can keep tabs on what you’re up to. Dipity is pretty simple to use, and it’s has an elegant presentation.

Some questions

The timeline making category is getting more and more crowded. Just how does Dipity plan to stand out among the rest? The site could use a more detailed explanation of how to add elements.

SiteClimb.com – Automatic SEO

View original post found on KillerStartups.com - all authored by siteclimb

What it does

It’s really simple…SiteClimb is a tool that uses your web site content and continually pushes your web site up the search engine rankings 24/7. SiteClimb also protects your key word / key phrase secrets from your competition since these secrets are publicly accessible. SiteClimb works before and after the scheduled indexing by the search engines. SiteClimb’s approach to SEO can be referred to as ‘White Hat’, in that they have a content-based approach to organic SEO without violating the terms of service for search engines.

Comparing SiteClimb to other SEO services…they are not temporary, they are not a ‘Black Hat’ approach to SEO, they are not that expensive ($39.95/month) and they do not require your site to be down or under construction.

For a web site owner, making sure people know where to find you, how to find your site and that your search engine results position is as high as possible are all very important. SiteClimb will address and help solve these challenges 24/7. The core of SiteClimb’s software is an advanced page analyzer that enables search engine spiders, like Googlebot, to see a highly tuned view of your website’s content.

Here are some KEY benefits that you and your site will receive while using SiteClimb:

- SiteClimb keeps your key word/phrase secrets by only showing the optimized page to bonified search engines and not just anyone trying to reverse engineer your keyword content

- SiteClimb works 24/7…day after day…week after week…month after month so you can focus on the rest of your business

- SiteClimb uses your web pages/content and gives the search engines exactly what they want to see which helps your search engine results position

- SiteClimb offers a simple technique to get image-only type web sites to index in top search engines. If your web site is made up of images where the text is part of the image, search engines are blind to you…not anymore with SiteClimb!

- SiteClimb verifies and confirms the authenticity of a spider that comes looking for data…if it’s not a ‘real’ spider then SiteClimb doesn’t feed it

In their own words

“It’s Finally Here! The Perfect Optimization Tool for Web Site Owners!

SiteClimb is an SEO tool that continually pushes your web site up the search engine rankings list. BEST OF ALL…SiteClimb keeps working even after the search engines do their indexing and shuffle the data. We all know that optimization services are temporary and its a matter of time before your web site drops in the rankings list…you’re left with another phone call to request an expensive optimization service.

With SiteClimb, it keeps working 24/7 even after indexing. This powerful software also keeps your secrets by only showing the optimized page to bonified search engines.

Install It, Set It and Forget It! It’s that simple…let SiteClimb do the optimizing while you focus on growing and marketing your business.”

Why it might be a killer

It is a powerfully unique product that addresses a ‘hot topic’ that exists on the web today…search engine optimization. In a sense, it puts an end to traditional seo services that provide temporary results…SiteCimb keeps working after indexing…and when content is added/edited…no problem…it will be served up to the search engines when they come knocking. For web site owners…a must tool to have to increase awareness of the site and to stay optimized. For web developers…a perfect addition to the other services they offer their web customers. For hosting companies…a valuable differentiator and ideal way to create an additional stream of revenue by offering this to their hosted clients.

Some questions

How will they stand out from the competition?

CleanCSS.com – For Optimizing CSS Codes

View original post found on KillerStartups.com - all authored by bruna

What it does

Are you a web designer that would like to optimize your CSS codes? CleanCSS.com is a tool for web designers that helps them optimize their CSS codes. CCS is short foe Cascading Style Sheets which is a stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of a document written in markup language or webpage written in HTML, or XHTML. CSS can define the color, font, layout, and other aspects of document and webpage presentation. CleanCSS.com offers web designers the CSS optimizer, CSS Tidy, which the site owners’ claim is the best CSS optimizer around. Web designers use CSS optimizers to get smaller CSS files and better written code. When you first enter the site you can see the optimizer. You have a section for the CSS input and the CSS layout where you choose a compression code layout from; highest, high, standard, low and custom. Then you have your options where you can remove unnecessary backslashes, compress colors, save comments, etc… to create a clean CSS code. CleanCSS.com also helps you with shorthand coding so you can consolidate information such as color and orders into one line. CleanCSS.com is a helpful site for web designers.

In their own words

“CleanCSS is a powerful CSS optimizer and formatter. Basically, it takes your CSS code and makes it cleaner and more concise.

The CSS optimizer was originally developed by some awesome dudes over at CSS Tidy. They built the program and have made it free for everyone to use. I stumbled across their optimizer one day while looking for help with my CSS. I wanted to know the shortest way I could style a background of a web site without having to use all the “background-image” and “background-repeat” tags. I found some other optimizers which I tried, but none worked as well as CSS Tidy. It was actually hosted on some random CD Burning website. Why? I have no idea.

But after I posted about it on my blog, I noticed that a week later, the site no longer existed. I was bummed because I was trying to show my fellow designers at work this amazing utility. So I took the liberty and installed CSS Tidy on my own webserver and registerd cleancss.com. I also styled it up to my liking (see the grass green colors?). So now I can make sure this kick-ass CSS utility stays up forever. And gets used by web designers everywhere.”

Why it might be a killer

CleanCSS.com has a clean interface which is fitting for the title of the site. The lime green color is appealing and the site is easy to navigate. Putting the CSS Tidy optimizer on the homepage is a good idea so users don’t have to look at all to find it. The description of why you should optimize CSS code is useful for those of us who are not experts in the web designing field. CleanCSS.com does a good job of explaining how and why the optimizer is useful.

Some questions

There are other CSS optimizers available, how will CleanCSS.com deal with competition from other sites that offer the same type of tool? CleanCSS.com could show examples of CSS codes before an after using the CSS Tidy optimizer, so users could get an idea of how to condense the codes.
